Trusted Connector Community Kickoff

Description

To introduce the Trusted Connector Program to the Southfield business community, celebrate the partnership between the Southfield Chamber of Commerce and the Great Lakes Women’s Business Council, and inspire participation among local business owners.


Event Agenda (2 Hours)
  • 5:30 – 5:50 p.m. | Guest Arrival & Networking Refreshments
Registration and informal networking. Light refreshments served. Background slides featuring partner logos and community highlights.
  • 5:50 – 6:00 p.m. | Welcome & Opening Remarks
Event Host or Moderator. Welcome attendees, acknowledge community partners, funders, and guests, and outline the evening’s agenda.
  • 6:00 – 6:15 p.m. | Partner Organization & Chamber Remarks
Speakers: Southfield Chamber of Commerce representatives share insights on local business engagement and community development opportunities.
  • 6:15 – 6:30 p.m. | Great Lakes WBC Remarks & Program Introduction
Speaker: Shawntay Dixon, Senior Director, Education & Program Operations. Overview of the Trusted Connector initiative, its purpose, and benefits to the Southfield business community.
  • 6:30 – 6:40 p.m. | Program Overview & Q&A
Condensed overview of Peer Growth Circles and Learning Circles, participant benefits (grants, membership, and business support), followed by brief audience Q&A.
  • 6:40 – 6:55 p.m. | Featured Speaker: “The Power of Partnership and Persistence”
Speaker: Jillian Blackwell. 
Inspirational remarks on entrepreneurship, resilience, and community connection.
  • 6:55 – 7:25 p.m. | Networking Reception & Refreshments
Open networking among attendees, chamber members, and partners. Great Lakes WBC information table available for applications, flyers, and Q&A.
  • 7:25 – 7:30 p.m. | Closing Remarks & Call to Action
