Join us for the Southfield Celebrates Black History Month Movie Night on Friday, February 15. Southfield Parks & Recreation Department will be showing the 2017 Academy Award nominated documentary, I Am Not Your Negro. The film is based on an unfinished manuscript by James Baldwin that was to be a personal account of the lives and successive assassinations of three of his close friends-Medgar Evers, Malcolm X and Martin Luther King, Jr. In the end the film is an examination of black history in America, from the Civil Rights movement up to the present.
