MASSMUTUAL GREAT LAKES BLAZES THE TRAIL FOR WOMEN IN FINANCE ANNOUNCING NEW WOMEN’S FINANCIAL GROUP AND KEY PERSONNEL

· Gina Coleman joins as Chief Sales Officer, becoming the highest-ranking woman on the MassMutual Great Lakes team

· Marti Mcleish named Managing Director of Collective Financial Group, a financial services group comprised solely of women

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (April ___, 2020) – It’s been said that “the future of finance is female” and MassMutual Great Lakes (MMGL) is proudly leading the way. The Southfield-based mutual life insurance company that offers a wide range of financial products and services is pleased to announce the launch of the Collective Financial Group (CFG), an all-female financial services firm dedicated to serving the financial needs of women while championing career opportunities for women in finance.

In addition, two top female executives have joined the team in leadership roles that shape and support the CFG: Gina Coleman, Chief Sales Officer for MassMutual Great Lakes who serves as a strategic partner to the CFG, and Marti McLeish, the Collective Financial Group’s Managing Director.

The driving force behind the company’s decision to create the Collective Financial Group lies in the numbers. Consider that:

· Only 15 percent of financial advisers are women.

· 70 percent of women seeking a financial adviser say they would prefer a female adviser.

· Women are projected to control two-thirds of the world’s wealth by 2030.

“As a firm, it’s our responsibility to provide financial professionals who are reflective of the communities we serve,” said Manuel Amezcua, president and CEO of MassMutual Great Lakes and co-founder of the Collective Financial Group. “We also recognize that the workplace and workforce are evolving and we are in a unique position to offer a career that reflects the vision women have for their lives. Under the leadership of Marti McLeish and with the expertise of strategic partner Gina Coleman, the CFG is poised to transform the financial services industry for women from clients to advisers.”

Gina Coleman, former Vice President, Client & Community Relations Director with PNC Financial Services, joined MassMutual Great Lakes in January, becoming the company’s highest-ranking female executive. She brings more than 25 years of combined experience in financial services, business, B2B and B2C sales, and management roles. Coleman will spearhead the sales department's brand strategy and

development initiatives to drive recruiting, sales training, adviser recognition and retention.

“We want to ensure this is a welcoming industry for women - one that empowers them to live their best lives and take control of their futures. We need more women in this industry,” Coleman said. “My new role at MassMutual Great Lakes allows me to do what I do best, which is building relationships. I’m inspired by the vision set forth by Manny and Samantha Amezcua and excited to grow the MMGL brand under his leadership.”

Marti McLeish joined the company in September 2019 and helped launch the Collective Financial Group on Jan. 30 of this year. McLeish has worked in the financial services industry for more than 17 years and brings extensive experience in program development and management, most recently serving VP of operations for the Foguth Group in Brighton.

“For most of my career, I was the only woman in the room,” said McLeish. “As managing director of the Collective Financial Group, I am eager to grow the group, give women a greater voice, and bring gender balance to our industry.”
