About

Established in 1958, Southfield Youth Assistance is a non-profit organization that offers professional counseling services and conducts prevention programs for youth and their families. We service residents who live or attend school in Southfield or Lathrup Village. Our mission is to strengthen youth and families through community involvement. SYA is one of 26 programs of the Oakland County Probate Court/Circuit Court-Family Division. SYA short-term counseling services are provided for a low cost processing fee for residents. Non-residents will be referred to the appropriate Youth Assistance office. Parents, school personnel, police officers and concerned citizens may refer youth to Southfield Youth Assistance. We offer Referral Services, Youth and Family Counseling, Family Education Programs, Summer Camp Scholarships, Skill Building Scholarships, Youth/Adult Mentors PLUS Program, Youth Recognition Award Ceremony and Youth Involvement.
