The Southfield Parks & Recreation Department invites you to join us in remembering the contributions and celebrating the history of African-Americans at the Southfield Celebrates Black History Month Kick-off Event on Saturday, February 2. The event will feature the Black History 101 Mobile Museum, a lecture by its founder Khalid el-Hakim, a Black-owned Business Marketplace, music by DJ DeezyD and will be highlighted by a lecture by Professor Griff, educator, author, musician, founding member of Public Enemy and a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee. The event will take place in the Southfield Pavilion at 26000 Evergreen Road from 4:00-9:00 pm. Admission is free.
